SPRING NEWS FROM TEACHER TINA!
Dear Parents,
I can’t believe we are already at the end of March! The Leprechauns have come and gone and now it's time to garden. This year has gone by so very fast, and your children have grown in so many ways. Both groups have developed new skills in every area, and when I think back to the fall it’s hard to believe they are the same children! The toddlers are truly becoming preschoolers, and I am so proud of how well they come to participate in circle and music, and how they are interacting with each other! The preschool group is a gift to watch as they work so well together and have become very independent both socially and creatively. Both groups make me eager to get to school and get the classroom set up every morning. The best part of my day is to see just what they have in store for me!
After our Spring Break next week (April 4-8) we have 10 short weeks left in our school year. We will jump right into all things spring to summer! We will be focusing on gardening, insects, frogs, and sea life. We will be planting seeds, growing butterflies, and watching polliwogs as we become scientists asking questions, observing and making conclusions. Of course, we will learn many new songs, hear wonderful stories and create beautiful artwork as we explore all of these areas!
I apologize for not getting this out sooner, but I thought you might enjoy having some words to a couple of the songs/poems we’ve been doing at school so you can have fun with them over break.
Winter Tells Us Little Bulbs
“Winter tells us little bulbs to hide our heads just so.
Then we won’t have to shiver when the cold winds blow.
Spring will come with sun and showers,
Soon to raise our heads,
Then we’ll grow and grow and grow…
And JUMP right out of bed!”
“Spring is Coming”
Spring is coming, spring is coming,
Birdies build your nests.
Weave together straw and feather,
Doing each your best!
Spring is coming, spring is coming,
Flowers are coming too.
Pansies, lilies, daffodilies,
All are coming through!”
Have a wonderful week, and think warm, sunny weather!
Sincerely,
Tina
